Offices: Financial Services Firm

The space is on a high floor of a midtown office building with a relatively narrow floor plate. The plan arrangement was calculated to provide views and natural light to all of the occupants. Interior lighting is controlled by light sensors which dim the fixtures (a combination of LEDs and fluorescents) based on the natural light level, thus significantly reducing energy consumption. Budgetary constraints dictated the use of systems for furniture, glass partitions and ceiling construction. The elevator corridor is articulated with walnut trimmed “lanterns” through which natural light flows from the open office area on the opposite side of the tiled, feature wall. The natural light is enhanced with LED ceiling coves. The reception desk is designed as a visual marker with its faceted, polyester resin surface.
